LEONCO continues its commitment to empower and support communities by donating 70 bags of rice and 50 bags of sugar to 10 mosques in the Texaco community of East-End, Freetown during the holy month of Ramadan.
For most communities, Ramadan is not only a period of holiness or consecration, but also a period for communal feasting and togetherness.
The team comprised of senior management, technical, and driving staff, spent an afternoon donated to Masjid Suad (Harakah), Masjid Raheem Masjid Toubah, Masjid Nurullah, Masjid Haram and Masjid Rasulullah Mosque in Quarry, Masjid Arafa mosque in Lorry Park, Thaqualla Masjid at Old Railway Line, Masjid Taqwalla at Nicol Terrace, Brima Lane, Wellington and Masjid Abubakarr Sidique at the Kissy Police Barracks.

Managing Director, Ibrahim Cole expressed that “as a company driven by purpose, mission, and a sense of making a difference, it’s incredible to be able to serve and give back to communities that support every facet of our business. We have employees and customers from these communities, our business operates in these communities, so we are always ready to serve, and prioritize community development.”
This is not the first time Leonco has made such donations as expressed by Chief Imam, Sheik Alhaji Ahmed Fuad. He highlighted that the company’s consistent effort in supporting the mosque goes beyond donating food items. He stated that “Leoneco cares about our community, they support our children by providing academic scholarships for them to further their studies.”
The Masjid Arafa Mosque was one of the beneficiaries of Leoneco’s solar power borehole initiative launched in 2021.
The visits also served as a reminder of the significant contributions the company has made towards community development when a member of the Masjid Arafa Mosque reminded the team that they installed a solar power borehole in 2021.
